"BIENVENUE CHEZ LES CH'TIS"
Salon-de-Provence was chosen by Dany Boon for his successful film.Synopsis:
Philippe Abrams is the manager of the Salon-de-Provence post office.
His is married to Julie, whose depressive nature makes his life impossible. To please her, Philippe cheats in order to get a transfer to the Côte d'Azur. However his plan is uncovered. He is transferred to Bergues, a little town in the north.
For the Abrams, who are southerners full of prejudice, the north is horrendous: an icy region, populated by uncouth people gabbling an incomprehensible language: the "cheutimi".
Philippe goes alone. To his great surprise he discovers a charming place, a friendly crowd and welcoming people and makes a friend: Antoine, the postman and the village's bell ringer, with a possessive mother and a thwarted love life.
When Philippe returns to Salon, Julie refuses to believe that he likes it in the north. She even thinks that he's lying to her out of consideration for her. To keep her satisfied and to simplify life, Philippe lets her believe that he is in fact going through hell in Bergues. From then on, his life sinks into a comfortable lie.
