 Walks and rambles.

The forest heritage of Salon-de-Provence covers more than 2,000 hectares of forests and "garrigue" scrub, 280 of which is the property of the town.

Its development has been carried out successfully for several years, and this is how the "bories" (dry stone huts) and "bancau" (dry stone walls) have been restored and the Bailli de Suffren Pavilion consolidated.

Three footpaths and a discovery trail, that can by walked by everyone, have been created over nearly 25 kilometres, throughout the local hills.

Two pinewoods located within the town and suburbs offer the people of Salon a space where they are free to relax.

The 11 hectare pinewood of Saint-Léon, in the east district, has a fitness trail, a playground, a bi-cross and rollerblade track.

The 8-hectare Bastide-Haute pinewood, located in the north district, includes play areas for children, bowling grounds, and a football pitch.

The Pigeonnier Park, covering 8,000 m², has been landscaped for relaxation and walking. This park is easily accessible because it is located in the town centre and planted with hundred-year-old trees.

Among the few (37) hectares of public parks in the town, one you should not miss is the Légion d'Honneur Floral Park on Boulevard de la République.

It is a rose garden with no less than 600 different rose bushes, and about forty varieties.
Enhanced by lawns and a 150-m² pond with fountains, several trees, including two Ginkgo Bilobas, six plane trees, cedars and palm trees, it is a real beauty spot in the town centre.
